Using Search Tools

Quick links in this article:

In this article, we’ll explore two critical search functions available in the top navigation menu.

  1. Data Search - find an interaction with the data associated to it, like an order number or email address

  2. Open Interaction - navigate straight to an interaction using the interaction ID number

You may only be able to see Interaction Search, depending on your User permissions. Contact your domain admin to update your permissions.

Data Search

The Data Search feature allows users to search for a specific interaction via dynamic data values (see Understanding Dynamic Data ). Keep in mind:

  • These data values could be past or present i.e. if the interaction History contains the data value, you can search for it

  • It includes hidden data fields - not just the ones showing in the current dataset

  • Results are returned for exact matched ONLY, not partial matches

To start a search, locate the Search icon in your navigation menu, and try typing in a likely data field value - such as an email address, or an order number.

You must have a custom field already setup and configured on your domain, and interactions storing data for that field, in order for this to return results.

Click the Search icon or hit Enter to return your results. Gnatta will display the interaction IDs, the date the interaction was created and the data value.

Data Search will return all the interactions containing that data field value.

If there are a large number of interactions returned, select See All - from here you can also apply date filters and download the results, or click straight into the interactions on your list.

Open Interaction

Interaction search does what it says on the tin - by providing an interaction ID, you can open any interaction in your Gnatta domain, in as few clicks as possible. This kind of search is available to all User permissions.

In the top right of your navigation header, you’ll find the Open Interaction button. Try clicking on this, and typing in an interaction number (find one from the Queue Radar, if you’re just testing the feature!).

Searches must be exact, and at least three digits. Partial IDs will not return results.
